Hey ya...

Nothing too exciting to write about today. I finally got my wife and oldest daughters pages setup. Took a while.

I'm still doing the part of my job I really hate, planning. There's always so much on the list of things to do for the next release of a product. Often times you have to cut something you'd really like to do just so you can ship the product on time. Writing specifications is the worst part of the job. :-)

I don't think I'll be writing anything next week. We're off to Hume Lake for a week of camping! Woo-Hoo! If that doesn't recharge my batteries, nothing will.

Until next time. Now, where did I put my sleeping bag?

I was just looking through some old e-mail and ran across this, forwarded by one of my teammates. I have no idea where he got it from. But it's really hilarious.

1. Dial Deutsche Bank/National Discount Brokers
at 1-800-888-3999 (toll free).

2. Listen to all of the options. It only takes a moment.

3. After hearing the 7th option, hit 7 and listen.

Every company should have an Option 7.

Hopefully it still works...

Howdy people with electricity!

Today on the news I heard you could go up to the web to find out when(possibly when?) your area would be blacked out. Isn't that nice of them! :-)

Gotta go before I lose power, at least my Visor still works.

Hey there .NET fans!

I had lunch with some friends today and we got to talking shop of course, couldn't help ourselves. Bob is an old Cobol programmer, Bob's not old but he used to write Cobol for a living. We've had a joke going on for some time about how Visual Object Cobol is going to make a comeback and take the world by storm! Well now that Microsoft .NET is coming why not create Visual Object Cobol.NET!

Richard took the idea a bit too far and made a nice little logo for it on his site. Nice Richard, nice. :-)

Well I hear my family calling, time to go have some fun.

Hey Y'All...

I arrived home from Seattle on Friday evening, June 15, to our wonderful central valley blast furnace. When I left Seattle it was sunny and about 65. When I got off the plane it was 100. But having lived here all my life it didn't seem foreign and somehow felt like a "welcome home" greeting. It's always nice to return home. Seattle is wonderful but as Dorothy said in the Wizard of Oz "There's no place like home".

Fathers day was a real treat. My girls, Haileigh and Taylor, picked up a couple of old movies I'd wanted on DVD along with a new coffee mug(covered in chili peppers) and some really nice cook books. WOW! My girls treat me better than I deserve and I'm thankful for it. :-)

My wife decided to get me Tomb Raider III as a joke since I've been talking about seeing it non-stop for about a month now. I still haven't gone but I've heard it really stinks. I'll be the judge of that thank you very much.

Schools out for the summer so I'm expecting to have a bunch of lunch dates with Kim and the girls. It nice having them around all the time. I'm a blessed man.

I guess I'd better go do some work. Hasta.
