Get Scobleized! - [2:04 PM]

It's nice to see Robert back in action after a quiet period. Blogspace is more interesting when he's blogging.

What a knucklehead - [12:04 PM]

ESPN: "I'm certainly not out to find trouble" - You can bet this guy is going to get off with a slap on the wrist. If I'd done this they'd throw me in the pokey, and I don't have a criminal record! I'd love to see the courts come down on him and make him spend some time in the slammer with a guy named Bubba.

More PowerBlog'in - [9:24 AM]

I've been messing around a bit more with Jon Davis' PowerBlog. I've decided to use it for one of my sites, so now I have a Blogger site(this one), a Radio powered site(that one over there), and I'm going to create a third for story length posts(it's over there). I'd started to create my story site in Radio but I just couldn't get over the hump and create it the way I wanted it to look, that's my fault B.T.W. not UserLand's. Radio is SUPER powerful and can do all sorts of cool stuff like Categories(my favorite Radio feature). Anywho, back to PowerBlog. Jon has worked VERY hard on this product and is nearing completion. He's on his own and he's at that point in the project where every new addition to code gets a bit harder because he needs to get it out the door. It's a tough spot to be in. Anyone that's written software knows what I'm talking about. At some point you have to draw a line in the sand and say, NO I'm not adding another thing to this code base. Save it for version 2.0.

If you have the time and would like to evaluate a new blogging tool please drop by Jon's PowerBlog site and take a look. Give him some feedback and encourage him. He's a nice guy and deserves a pat on the back for his hard work.

I'll make another unusual plug for Jon. Is there anyone out there with need for a VB hack? UserLand, could you use another bright coder? Jon's a bright guy and it's time he got paid for his effort.

Rare... - [2:33 PM]

CNet News: "Microsoft makes Rare buyout official" - This is most excellent. I've played games they developed and they are outstanding. Watch out you youngins out there, you may actually get games for the XBox that are rated "E". In fact games like those created by Rare are the reason we have a Nintendo GameCube in the house.

Good Mornin' Y'All... - [10:48 AM]

Looks like it's going to be another scorcher here in the Valley, but that's ok. I'm finding it hard to focus on more than a couple of things these days. I'm mindful of my family and how things are going to work out with this entire Iraq fiasco. I never thought I'd see war in my lifetime and now real war, not police action, is a possibility. Vietnam, Korea, and the Gulf War didn't affect us the way an attack on Iraq could. If we're made out to be haters of Islam we could be in for the battle of our life. I feel confident in saying most American's don't have a problem with TRUE Islam, but that's not what we're fighting. We're fighting the same kind nutters my grandfather did in WWII. It's not about religion, even though bin Laden is hiding behind it, it's about world domination. Just like Hitler. Only this time it's not just one country. It could be an entire religion(not the legitimate Islam, the extremists) rallying around a couple of complete nuts like Sadam Hussein and Osama bin Laden. Think about that for a couple of minutes. Hopefully he doesn't have a nuke with launch capability, heck has anyone considered that maybe he might just plant one right in the middle of Baghdad and set it off if he knows he's about to die?

Is it really fall? - [8:50 AM]

Time for some fall weather!Good mornin' from the lovely San Joaquin Valley! Maybe that should say 'from the HOTTER than you know where San Joaquin Valley'! It's too darned hot here to be Fall. Someone needs to tell the weather it's time for a change. Today's high is expected to be 100, does that sound like fall weather to you? Our average high for this time of year is 87, we're a whopping 13 degrees NORTH of that. It's just a bit too much and I'm ready for a break. I'd even welcome our horrible tule fog at this point.

Here's to cooler weeks ahead, I hope!
