Very interesting - [12:57 PM]

A graphical outlineThose of you with outliner brains might appreciate Cass McNutt's thoughts on a system that maps outlines. I'm sure there are some old-timer outliners out there that'll have something to say, right?

Very interesting Cass.

Old Visio, new OS - [9:47 AM]

A good friend sent me e-mail yesterday asking if Visio 2000 would work with Windows XP or Windows 2000? Sure it will! As a matter of fact all releases of Visio should still work with the newer versions of Microsoft OS's. I have a copy of Visio 2.0 that runs just fine on this box, which is running Windows XP.

If old Visio doesn't work, that's a problem. If you have an old 1.0, 2.0, or 3.0 copy (all 16-bit Win 3.1 apps) laying around install it for grins. They're SUPER fast on today's newer machines. Heh...

Movie line of the week answer - [9:39 AM]

The Shining movie posterI didn't get quite as many answers as I'd expected, five in all. All correct because it was an easy line to guess.

Our winner is Tyler Love, congratulations Tyler!

The correct answer is....

The Shining

My favorite answer came from J.D. Roth, "I've always taken a shining to that movie, anyhow..."

Met another local because of this goofy little contest. Everyone say "Hi" to Mr. Robert A. Dodd. Beautiful site Robert.

Potter Movie 3 - [10:01 AM]

Harry Potter and the Chamber of SecretsIn the Official Harry Potter Newsletter there's an address to send casting queries. My question is who do I talk to about a job? I'd love to work on the films, yes in England! My wife has bought off on the idea, now all I have to do is score a job!

If you're interested in playing a part in "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban", my favorite book by the way. Send casting queries to:
Jina Jay
Leavesden Studio
P.O. Box 322
Watford, England

So does anyone know how to get a job on the films?

He's turning into a blog addict; new domain, new blog, new blogging software.

Telemarketers - [5:24 PM]

Ring-ring, ring-ring....

Me: Hello
Them: This is so-and-so with such-and-such company calling to offer you [insert amazing product you just CANNOT live without here].
Me: I'm not interested, thanks.
Them: What exactly are you NOT interested in.
Me: Talking to you, click.

*IF* you're going to call me and offer me crap I don't care to have, and I tell you I'm not interested, just say thanks and hang up, please. That way I don't have to be rude and hang up on you. Telemarketing and Spam, hand-in-hand.

Farewell - [2:56 PM]

Jim Seymour, or PC Magazine fame, has passed away. Back in the day when PC Magazine ruled I couldn't wait to get my hands on the newest copy. Mr. Seymour was always a fun and interesting read.

Just one of those days.... - [9:49 AM]

Don't you hate it when your day starts off bad? It seems like everything is headed south this morning and it's not even 10:00 yet.

I'm hopeful it'll get better as the day progresses.

Softball was good last night.

One outta Two aint bad - [10:43 AM]

I hate the Giants as much as I hate the Yankees. At least the Yankees are out early. Hopefully the Cards will destroy the Giants in the NLCS, I can only hope. I'd hate to see Barry Bonds go any further. Nuff said.

Blogger woes?

Had some trouble getting the post window to show this morning. Weird. Seems to be all better now. Problems like this are why a centralized blogging tool are bad. On the flip side I can blog from anywhere in the world as long as I have an internet connection. I still think the ultimate weblogging tool would do both. Client side GUI, client side storage, Server side GUI(limited), server side storage, with synchronization between the two. That would be the best of both worlds. Who's going to be the first to do it?

Maybe Microsoft? Hmmmmm

Escher & LEGOs - [1:22 PM]

Very nice LEGO building block version of M.C. Escher's Ascending and Descending.

Thanks for answering my earlier post Bill. I didn't inspect my Settings closely enough when I upgraded to Blogger Pro. The option to do daily archives is indeed there.

Now all I gotta do is figure out how to create that swell little calendar.

Archives? - [10:11 AM]

Good Morning Y'All!

So the question of the day is, how do I create a nifty calendar, for a Blogger site, to manage my archives? You know what I mean. I'd also like to change the way archives are created. I'd like to go to a year/month/day-or-week scheme. That's actually one of my favorite features of Radio and PowerBlog. Since Blogger isn't scriptable do we just use what we have or is there a way to tweak it?

Anywho, there's my random on-the-drive-to-work thought. Off to a meeting. TTFN.
