Wacky day... - [6:01 PM]

This morning around 11:30 I decided to turn on my little space heater because my feet were cold, fall has finally arrived ya know. Anywho I'm sitting there and not warming up so I reached down with my foot and moved the toggle button to high, I've never done that before, and WHAM there goes the power. So I got up reset all my power strips, nothing, ok... Go into the utility room of the building and look for my breaker box. No problem, found it. Notice that the topmost switch is has kicked to off. Great! So I try to switch it back on, no doing. Ok, turn everything off, then turn switch them back on one at a time, good, good, good, goo... BAD! Darn thing won't take. Ok, get on the phone to my slumlord. I get the answering machine which clearly states he and his wife are going out of town for a few days. Oh that's just swell, how long is a few days?

So needless to say I had to pack up my main dev box and my laptop and lug them back home, where I'm sitting now, writing code and using a dialup connection to type this entry. Hopefully the slumlord of my building will be back in town soon so he can fix the problem with the breakers. Until then I'm left hanging out on a super skinny pipe, just enough to do e-mail. Sigh...

Ok movie line guessers, it's time to throw out a carrot, an easy movie line.

Angels in the outfield! - [9:37 AM]

World Series game 3 was a success! Way to go Angels! Angel emoticon

Here's Dave Winer's account of the game, he blogged it using Radio's outliner and pushed it to a Movable Type powered server. Nice! Here's the San Francisco Chronicles account.

Sniper - [3:54 PM]

MSN: "Your children are not safe anywhere at any time." - Any death is horrible, but the children? What a creep.

Local movie - [1:37 PM]

I can't remember how long it's been since I watched some scenes for Time Changer being shot but it wasn't that long ago. It looks like it's release is just around the corner! Woo-Hoo, this is a must see for me.

Pay close attention to some of the alley shots they were shot right up the street. There are some shots of the main character, D. David Morin, walking up the street at night next to a brick building. They're also right up the street, next to Visalia Coffee Company.

Howdy doody - [10:35 AM]

Potter, Potter, everywhere! I'm very excited about Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets, I'm probably boring everyone with talk about it. You know it's bad when people start to mention stuff about it on their site. The books and the movies have me hooked. I'm like a junkie looking for a fix. That's horrible isn't it? No matter. The big question around our house is who gets book five first? I have a sneaking suspicion Kim will win.

I've added a Potter countdown to my Radio play site. It also has some links to Potter sites, and a Lord of the Rings site, I like.

Here's a nice interview with Rupert Grint, the boy that plays Harry's best friend Ron Weasley.

23 days and counting to the US premier of Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets.

What are we doing? - [3:50 PM]

John Robb's received a letter from Uncle Sam letting him know he could be called back to duty, huh?

I have two brothers that served, one in the Army and one in the Navy. I don't want to see them head off to a foreign land to, as John puts it, baby sit oil fields. Here's hoping to a peaceful resolution to this whole mess.

Good Mornin! - [9:55 AM]

Great game last night! The Angels finally got a win, the series is now tied up 1-1. Now they're headed back to San Francisco. That's going to prove tough for the Angels, but they're a good ball club so it should work out just fine. Hopefully they'll be able to bury the hatchet in SF, but somehow I can't see that happening. I can see it going 3-2 then heading back to Anaheim to finish it off. The question is who's going to be the team to be up 3-2? It's hard to say. Both lineups are dangerous at the plate. Anaheim has already beat the most home runs in the playoffs record and if you pitch to Bonds, well we all know what could happen. It's very exciting!

Come on Angels!
