Potter News Aggregator - [1:53 PM]

Click to visit The Harry Potter Automatic News Aggregator! Most excellent! I received an e-mail from a gentleman by the name of Jeff Guillaume and he's pointed me to a wonderful News Aggregator for Harry Potter he's built! It's called Harry Potter Automatic News Aggregator. It has RSS 0.91 and 1.0 feeds of all the Harry Potter News you could possibly want! Woo-Hoo!

Thanks Jeff!

Movie line of the week answer. - [10:01 AM]

Good morning everyone. Hope you didn't eat too much candy and get a tummy ache!

Yesterday's line was a trick line. All you had to do was name the 'holiday' name and you got it! It was Jamie Lee Curtis' big break and won her the title 'The Queen of Scream'. It's from the movie....
Movie poster for Halloween

Halloween

Our winner and still champion, Steven Vore! Congratulations Steven.

A big thanks to everyone that played.

Happy Halloween All! - [4:50 PM]

Run Ichabod, run! He's right behind you!Tonight is a night for ghouls and goblins, a night to sit by a fire and read a nice ghost story to your family, or venture out with the kids for a nice round of trick-or-treating. Whatever you decide to do tonight remember to be safe. It's going to be a wild night!

In case you're at a loss for a good Halloween story might I recommend; The Legend of Sleepy Hallow by Washington Irving. It's the story of poor Ichabod Crane and his run in with a Headless Horseman! Oooooo, I'm getting the shivers just thinking about it.

You gotta love it! - [4:02 PM]

Steven and Mark are doing it, why not!

I've always thought about doing different things to this site based on holiday, or time of the year. It would be nice for the site to automagically change with the seasons, don't you think? Does the OmniWeb still change it's throbber to the cool looking pumpkin globe?

Hmmmmmmm, lets me see.

Movie line of the week - [9:35 AM]

Happy Halloween everybody!

Here's a classic movie line, bet you can't guess it!

I'm a scared punkin!
I met him, fifteen years ago. I was told there was nothing left. No reason, no conscience, no understanding; even the most rudimentary sense of life or death, good or evil, right or wrong. I met this six-year-old child, with this blind, pale, emotionless face and, the blackest eyes... the DEVIL'S eyes! I spent eight years trying to reach him, and then another seven trying to keep him locked up for I realized what was living behind that boy's eyes was purely and simply... EVIL!
Ok, quick, what movie! Send your guesses here.

Mornin' Y'All! - [10:00 AM]

Bringing in the fall harvestIt's a nice crisp morning here in the San Joaquin Valley. Nothing too exciting going on; working my buttocks off on the next release of Visio, which is going quite well I might add.

Is it just me or do bloggers seem to be slowing down a bit? I know I certainly am, too much real work to do so I don't have time for my mile long list of fun stuff I'd like to work on. I have some good ideas rolling around my brain but no time to work on them. No matter, I'm having fun anyway.

Who has the next killer idea out there?

Back in business! - [10:11 AM]

Ok! This is mucho better. I'm back in the office with a much thicker pipe, DSL sure beats the poo-poo out of 56k. Maybe one day the entire world will enjoy the benefits of broadband connections.

The little town of Exeter, California, would be a good start, hint, hint.

Flash - [9:45 AM]

I gotta say I really DO NOT like Flash. The web is slow enough why slow it down with a bunch of pretty animation? Don't get me wrong, I like pretty stuff as much as the next guy but please give me the choice on a startup page or something. Why am I complaining? My wife just asked me to go to this site, and I'm on a 56k connection. I'm still waiting for it to load.

When everyone, and I mean everyone, has broadband then I'll probably love it. Until then give me a choice.

Then again, maybe it's not Flash! It's still SLOWWWWW! :-)

Congratulations!! - [8:59 AM]

I have to start the day by congratulating the Anaheim Angels! What a series. Once again it takes all seven games to decided the victor, simply amazing. On Saturday night I was convinced it was over. San Francisco was just hitting the ball too darned well and shutting down the Angels, then POW, they got on a roll. After game six was over I thought the series was a complete success no matter who won.

Darned power

I'm still in my diminished office situation. Working from home again today. The good news is my slum lord called and said he would fix my power problem this afternoon. I'll be back in business tomorrow morning. Good thing! I need the bigger pipe, and SOON!

Once I get back to the office I can update my softball page with the weekend's tournament results.

Centralized or Decentralized?

Boy oh boy is that the question! I've experienced the best and worst of both over the past few days. When my power went out I decided to bring home two machines instead of three. The third one just happens to be my Radio box. It's a decentralized blogging tool and news aggregator(the thing I miss the MOST!) On Friday Blogger went black for a while, it's a centralized system. No Blogger, no blogging for this site! Since I'd elected not to bring my Radio box along I was totally black until Blogger was back up. I couldn't even use Radio's mail-to-weblog feature because my office didn't have any power! Weird situation to say the least.
