J.D. Roth ROTK Review
Foldedspace.org: "How was The Return of the King? I liked it. It's much better than Peter Jackson's Helms Deep." - I think you'll find his review interesting, it's very thorough. I must admit I just read the top portion because I don't want to read any spoilers, reader beware. Return of the King will probably be our day-after-Christmas movie this year, just as it was the past two years.
On a side note J.D, you should write a book. You tell the best stories, put pen to paper and write us a doozie!
Movie line of the week answer
Good morning fellow movie freaks! For yesterday's line I went back to a Christmas theme, it is the most wonderful time of the year ya know! Anywho, there's a good chance you've seen this flick sometime during the month of December. It's one we try to watch around this time of year, our list of Christmas movies is about a mile long.
Our winner is, you guessed it, Moose. He chimed in right away. Like I said to him he must have had his antlers tuned to the right blogging channel when I posted. Congratulations Moose! Honorable Mention goes to Justin King, our one and only international player.
Thanks to everyone that played! The correct answer is...
See how easy that was?
Plug for a friend
A good friend that recently left Microsoft has started a new scooter business in Seattle! Way to go Jeff! So if you're planning a trip to the Emerald City make sure you visit Jet City Scooters and tell 'em Fahrni sent ya!
Come on down Mr. Scoble!
Robert Scoble: "Hey, maybe we should do a geek dinner the week between Christmas and New Years. I wanna get a picture of that Tablet PC and .NET app that runs the US's biggest pistachio processing plant." - Robert we'd love to have you come out to the plant. It's wicked cool stuff, all kinds of nifty gadgets.
The big game
Saturday night was the annual Exeter Union Monarchs Alumni vs. Woodlake Tigers Alumni football game. This year we had the pleasure of playing in the newly renovated Monarch stadium. The field was absolutely wonderful. We also had the great fortune of breaking a weird streak. For the last three years the visiting team has won the game, this year I'm happy to report we won 20-0. The offense and defense were clicking this year. Thanks to coaches, friends, and the alumni for making it possible. I'd also like to thank our local paper, The Exeter Sun, for all the ink we received leading up to the game. We managed to pack the stadium because of it! And a big, big, thanks to everyone that braved a cool evening to come out and watch us play. The big turnout means we raised a good amount of money for each school, that's why we're doing it after all!
Oh yeah... I said I'd mention this. Fellow defensive end, David Cole(the one I went to school with), said I had to mention the one that got away! Early in the fourth quarter I had the QB dead to rights, sack time! I took a bad angle and he spun me right off, how embarrassing.
I hope nobody watches the film.
Movie line of the week
Contrary to popular belief I haven't fallen off the face of the planet, or been abducted by aliens, I've just been very busy. New jobs, sheese!
I thought long and hard about this one, did a bit of research, and with the help of the Movie line of the week board of directors we've decided it was the right line for today. Are you ready?
Here it is...
I never liked a girl well enough to give her 12 sharp knives.
