John Gossman: "For simplicity let us say Sparkle Year One ended 3 years ago. The team was about 10 people, including 3 developers and a couple of PMs. We had a small core code base that created an Avalon Window and a DocumentManager and a few simple tools. We could load and save XAML using Avalon's built-in parser. The next year would be much more interesting..." - I love stuff like this. I had the privilege of working with John on Visio. He's one of those rare characters. Brilliant in every sense of the word but not afraid of getting his hands dirty. Just ask him about his early days at Visio working on IntelliCAD, I'm sure he has some horror stories to share.
Keep it coming John, it's great reading.

Cass McNutt: " ...and it reminded me of my parents describing the milkman delivering milk every day, and their folks describing the ice-delivery man before him.... and I realized that I was seeing something right before my eyes, which will someday no longer be..." - I wish Cass would write more. He's a very passionate, thoughtful, man with a lot to share beyond his technical thoughts and ideas.
Movie line of the week answer
Good evening (Say that with a low, evil voice)
The movie our line came from is quite honestly chock-full-o fabulous lines, most of which aren't fit for print, but this one managed to get a few answers.
Our big winner was Mr. Scott C. Reynolds, and I'd like to declare Sean Malloy our international winner. Congratulations guys.
The correct answer is...
I also love the tagline, "Mischief. Mayhem. Soap."
Movie line of the week
Sorry for the lateness, we have a guy leaving and he had to dump his brain on us this morning. Yes, it was quite the mess when we were finished.
Anywho, this line was brought up yesterday by this mornings brain dumper so I thought I'd use it as a last hoo-rah. Thanks John!
Here she be, good luck!
Oxygen gets you high. In a catastrophic emergency, you're taking giant panicked breaths. Suddenly you become euphoric, docile. You accept your fate. It's all right here. Emergency water landing - 600 miles an hour. Blank faces, calm as Hindu cows.
Ok, quick, what movie! Send your guesses here
