Framework Spaghetti? - [8:52 AM]

Ooey GUI: "If I were to say, propose a rendering framework on this site... Do you want it as C++ classes, an API, COM objects?" - When I was getting started at Pelco I spent some time getting familiar with the code and trying to figure out how we should expose bits to the external world. It's not a simple choice. I'd asked all those questions myself; C++ classes, 'traditional' API, COM Objects. I also asked 'what about developers using managed frameworks?' It's an interesting mix isn't it? In the end, before I got too busy to think about it, I was leaning toward the traditional flat API, why? It seems to fit well into all those scenarios, C++ and COM developers would simply wrap the framework in classes that suited their needs, the C developer would be right at home, and done right the managed framework developer could wrap the API's to their liking using PInvoke. Not pretty, I know, but workable.

Revolution - [8:18 AM]

arsy: "The Revolution Begins ..." - The other day I walked by RC and he had a big grin on his face, he looked at me and simply said 'I did it', so of course I asked 'did what?' to which he replied 'I bought a Mac'.

I'm green with envy.

Movie line of the week answer - [9:36 AM]

My weblog has become a ghost town, I know. That's a surefire way to lose visitors, and subscribers. So I wasn't surprised to get only two guesses to yesterday's Movie Line.

Our big winner is Moose, congratulations Moose, and no I haven't forgotten about sending you your copy of Halo 2, it's all boxed up I just need to get it out the door.

Our international winner is Sean Malloy! That's two in a row Sean!

The correct guess was...

Thanks for playing, please come again.

Natural evolution - [9:35 AM]

There's a lot of consolidation taking place in the weblogging world, a natural evolution now that blogging has become important. We'll see more and more of this over the next couple of years I'm sure.

Some links...

The question is... Who's next?
