Bravo, Philly - [1:44 PM]

ESPN: "Terrell Owens was suspended by the Philadelphia Eagles on Saturday for conduct detrimental to the team, a catch-all sanction that team officials imposed after deliberating much of Friday over how to address the latest flap involving their loquacious wide receiver." - More pro sports teams should take this kind of hard line with cancerous players like Terrell Owens. Hats off to the Philadelphia Eagles management, you're a model for professional sports, and that's saying a LOT coming from a Dallas Cowboys fan!

Mr. Owens, you show no loyalty to your organization or the fans that support you. Why then would you expect a big celebration for your accomplishments? It is not about you, but narcissistic people, such as yourself, don’t recognize that.

Ajax, the buzz of Silicon Valley? - [9:54 AM]

Slashdot: "has the chance to change the face of how we look at Web applications" - Oy, say it ain't so. The web browser is not a place for rich applications. It's just fine for e-mail, blogging, and the like, but for serious applications? I don't think so.

What an embarrassment - [9:45 AM]

ESPN: " Terrell Owens thinks the Eagles could be undefeated at this point in the season if they had Brett Favre at quarterback." - Terrell Owens is an embarrassment to the Philadelphia Eagles and the NFL as a whole. Pathetic.

Just say 'No' to XBox 360 - [1:05 PM]

Steven Vore: "There are rumors that even those who did pre-order may not get theirs anyway. This was recently posted on one of the forums, by an assistant manager at an EBGames" - I'd encourage folks to 'Just say No!', so I can get mine on time. Smile, life is good!

I'm calling it... - [2:49 PM]

RE: clonethegoogleapi.com, someone will come along and create an aggregate service that maps the "cloneapi" to Google, live.com, Yahoo, and [insert others here].

There ya go Dave, your next big thing, aggregate services through a unified web API based on the Google API.

clonethegoogleapi.com: "Let's make the Google API an open standard" - That's one way to attract attention.

Live.com/Start.com - [10:49 AM]

I'm not sure why Microsoft would 'announce' live.com and start.com? They're not even in a beta form yet?

Very surprising, and disappointing.

I played around with live.com for a while yesterday, switching back to IE since it doesn't work in other browsers, and tried a few searches. I guess Google got search right because live.com search looks very familiar, down to the little micro-ads in the right column.

This is the web circa-1995, we don't need more of the same. We need radically different and I'm guessing Google and/or Apple, yes Apple, will be the companies to deliver it, or better yet some super hungry startup!

Pelco Mobile Products Showcase - [8:20 AM]

What's something every software, or hardware, engineer at Pelco should do? They should go on the road with the Pelco Mobile Products Showcase and see what customers are saying about their work. I for one would love to venture out on a truck for a two week road trip, I'd even blog it!

Greg, how 'bout it? Can I go on a road trip?

On this day... - [8:15 AM]

Four years ago I was traveling to Oslo, Norway, then on to Stockholm, Sweden. It was quite an experience, and something I miss about my days with the Visio crew, every once in a while I could escape to a wonderful place.

Microsoft... Scobleized! - [8:06 AM]

Scoble: "And deal with it openly, without FUD, is what we’re going to do. Or, we’re going to be fired. That’s my cautionary tale to everyone inside Microsoft. Pay attention to this stuff or you’ll find yourself working somewhere else cause the customers went somewhere else." - Wow, Robert really lays it on the line in that post. He's probably brought up all the points I've ever heard from the Linux camp. Heck, we use it because it's free, it works, and it can be stripped down into a bear metal server that just does one thing and does it well.

GUI? We don't need no stinkin' GUI. Smile, life is good! (Of course we do, but not in all cases.)

Software, for free? - [7:52 AM]

Naked Conversations: "Meanwhile, Redmond is proud but not foolish. The writing is on the wall that almost all software will be open and free." - I'd put cold hard cash on the table that Microsoft will never give away software. If they do 'give it away' it'll be under the guise of a service contract and they'll make sure they get more out of you than they did before.

If you a share holder, or employee, you don't want them to give stuff away, right? Prove me wrong, it wouldn't be the first time and it certainly won't be the last.

Three years old? - [9:29 PM]

HPANA: "After starting humbly with a single web pageopens in new window on my home computer on October 15, 2002, HPANA has since exploded into an international, award-winning Harry Potter fan site." - I remember when Jeff Guillaume contacted me about HPANA, congratulations Jeff! Here's to a long and rewarding run!
