Potter disappointment, already?
Last night I watched the A&E "Harry Potter Special" and I was once again very disappointed with Michael Gambon's continued horrific portrayal of Albus Dumbledore. In all honesty I'm not sure if it's the writers, director, or the actor that's destroying the character. If I were J.K. Rowling I'd be furious. During the interview Mr. Gambon states in a nutshell that Dumbledore is worried and doesn't know what to do in this film. What! Did anyone pick that up out of the book? Am I missing something here? I'm sure Ms. Rowling has to bite her tongue on the subject because she's signed the movie rights over to Warner Brothers. Anywho, I'll take in all in next week. I hope this film is better than the last one.
I wonder if The Leaky Caludron or MuggleNet will pick up the ball and run with this one?
Movie line of the week answer
Good morning movie liners, thanks so much for supporting my little game.
Yesterday's line produced quite a few answers, all of 'em correct, but folks didn't hit guess button fast enough to take the prize from James Robertson, that's three weeks in a row! Congratulations James.
The correct answer was of course...
I couldn't resist since Goblet of Fire
One day to-go
November 18th. Potter freaks around the world are primed and ready. Here are a few quotes and links to get the party started.
NY Times movie review:
And, as in the book "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" on which this latest and happily satisfying film adaptation is based, childhood ends with screams and a final shudder in a graveyard crowded with tombstones and evil. - The New York Times [via HPANA]
Michael Gambon talks about playing Dumbledore:
Empire: Have you still not read any of the books?
Gambon: Well, I don't see any point. I've got the scripts. People who have read the books get miserable because of all the bits that have been cut out. So I just read the script. That's the best way. - Empire Online [via HPANA]
We're not going to be there tomorrow night. We're saving this film for our day-after-Thanksgiving family film.
I'm looking forward to the best Potter yet, especially since the last film was a bit disappointing.
Movie line of the week
Wow, this week has flown by!
Are you ready for a movie line? Well then let's get to work.
Search the skies if you must, Minister, but now I think I'll have a nice cup of tea, or a large brandy. Oh, and executioner, your services are no longer required. Thank you.
Ok, quick, what movie! Send your guesses here
About two years ago I started hitting the gym after a 20 year hiatus. As part of my daily regimen I began taking supplements to help with development. I've been very happy with my supplement choices but I'm wondering if there's anything I should consider to help get me over some lifting humps.
I'm currently taking Champion Nutrition's Met-Max(this is the one product I'd love to have a lifetime supply of BTW), Pure Whey, Glutamine, and Creatine. There are so many products on the market, and what to do is very confusing. Nitric Oxide, or N.O, is getting a lot of attention these days, as well as a new kid on the block; Gakic.
If you lift, please share your supplement regimen with me, no steroids please.
I think it's time to escape the valley for a couple of days. I'd love to head over to the central coast, either Morro Bay or San Luis Obispo, hopefully during a cold and rainy weekend.
Now we just need to find the time.
No laptop on your vacation?
Do you take your laptop with you on vacations? If the answer is "Yes", the I'd have to ask what the heck you're smoking? Next time you vacation leave your laptop, handheld, and cell phone at home.
I love gadgets as much as the next guy but my guess is you'll live without them, and really enjoy your vacation.
