Disney Shareholder Meeting - [12:08 PM]

Tiggers are wonderful things! The Disney Blog: "The annual stock holder meeting was held on Friday at The Pond in Anaheim this year. It was nice to see that they handed out one-day passes to Disneyland to attendees, a tradition they had dropped in recent years." - One of these days I'll actually attend the meeting, sounds like the new leadership is keeping folks happy.

How about the one day pass for attendees! Sweet!

We're going to have to find time to go this spring. We're absolutely hammered at work right now but hopefully I'll be able to find some time in May or June for a two-day trip to The Happiest Place on Earth. This time we have to stay at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel.

Good deal for a Vista/Linux Dev box? - [8:44 AM]

Chris Sells: "I called my local Fry's, and while they were no longer have the $159 sale (apparently "quantities are limited"), they would be willing to sell me one for $171. While I was there, I got a 1GB memory upgrade and a 256MB ATI graphics card." - I've had a 'need' to setup a dual-boot Vista/Linux box at home. Yes there are things I'd like to explore on both platforms. Ruby, SmallTalk, WinFX SDK, Drupal, and Qt, just to name a few.

This looks like a great way to get your hands on a fast box, and it's super cheap.

Windows on a Mac - [1:08 PM]

Intel Core Duo.News.com: "'Windows is a legacy OS,' he said to laughter and applause from the crowd. 'We don't have legacy support.'" - Ok, take that for what it is, tongue in cheek. If Microsoft wanted to boot Windows on a Mac it probably wouldn't take them that long to do it.

But, of course, statements like that are great for fanatics to hear. It gets people fired up about their platform, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Barry Bonds, steroid abuser? - [9:59 PM]

SI.com: "Beginning in 1998 with injections in his buttocks of Winstrol, a powerful steroid, Barry Bonds took a wide array of performance-enhancing drugs over at least five seasons in a massive doping regimen that grew more sophisticated as the years went on, according to Game of Shadows, a book written by two San Francisco Chronicle reporters at the forefront of reporting on the BALCO steroid distribution scandal." - Who'd of thunk it, Barry Bonds did steroids. It sounds like this book will be a fabulous read.

RawSugar tagging from FeedDemon - [8:16 PM]

Nick responded to my earlier post to let me know he didn't have time to add IBlogExtension support to FeedDemon. I definitely understand, Nick, thanks so much for taking the time to read what I have to say, I appreciate it.

Now for some interesting news. I actually have tagging in RawSugar working from within FeedDemon using BlogThis support, all thanks to Nicks comments, thanks Nick!

I read this post on the FeedDemon Tips site, checked out the "properties" on the RawSugar provided FireFox "Tag! RawSugar" button, and came up with this.

  • Right click on a news item
  • Select Send Item > Blog this News Item > Configure Blog Publishing Tools
  • Click Add, then enter "RawSugar" as the name
  • For the command line, enter http://www.rawsugar.com/tagger/?turl=$ITEM_LINK$+&tttl=$ITEM_TITLE$
  • Select "Set as default," then click OK

Now just click on any news item and press Ctrl+Shift+B to post that item to your RawSugar Directory.

FeedDemon 2.0 request, revisited - [10:29 AM]

I'm going to beg Mr. Bradbury for a feature, just one more time, and it's for purely selfish reasons. Smile, life is good!

I'd very much like to see support for IBlogExtension in the next FeedDemon release. I spent some time creating a plugin to RawSugar I'd like to use. I hate to admit that I don't use it because my feed reader of choice doesn't support it, but that's the only reason I don't use it. For now I'm copying the link, pasting it in my browser, and using RawSugar's browser support to tag items I'm interested in. It works, but it would be so nice to offload that into the reader.

Please don't take that as a criticism Nick. FeedDemon is a part of my daily desktop and I think it's beautifully crafted software.
