Movie line of the week answer - [9:38 AM]

Good morning folks. Sorry for the lateness of this post. Blogger was down yesterday when I had a couple minutes to post.

I'm on the road to Stockton this morning for my youngest daughters volleyball tournament, so the link to the movie on IMDB will be missing.

Our big winner was Mr. Bill Lazar, congratulations Bill.

The correct answer was Sin City.

Oh, the irony of it all... - [12:42 PM]

Reuters: "'If you are going to go have people share the computer, get a broadband connection and have somebody there who can help support the user, geez, get a decent computer where you can actually read the text and you're not sitting there cranking the thing while you're trying to type,' Gates said." - It's a good thing Microsoft doesn't develop hand held computers, or supporting software for tablet like, devices, or statements like that could be bad for business.

All joking aside, he does make some good points. Who knows maybe Google, or someone else, will step-up and fill the need for a good high speed connection?

Web Pioneer gets a face-lift - [8:16 AM]

Zeldman: "The site is now powered by WordPress (why?) and hosted by Media Temple (why?). The hand-rolled summaries feed has retired. In its place is full-text RSS 2.0. There is also a full-text Atom feed for those who like their tofu extra crunchy." - WordPress has quite the following. If you're in the market for a nice full-blooded weblogging tool this could be the ticket.

Movie line of the week - [7:58 AM]

Good morning movie liners, are you ready?

You gotta love the movies. Here's the line, good luck!

Most people think Marv is crazy. He just had the rotten luck of being born in the wrong century. He'd be right at home on some ancient battlefield swinging an axe into somebody's face. Or in a Roman arena, taking his sword to other gladiators like him.

Ok, quick, what movie! Send your guesses here.

Drama, get yer drama here, drama... - [7:12 PM]

Rogers Cadenhead: "I received this letter Friday from Christopher C. Cooke, Dave Winer's attorney:"

Dave Winer: "This is a response to a post by Rogers Cadenhead on his blog today. "

Let the drama unfold. Someone should get ahold of TNT, because as we all know, they know drama.

Please, don't do that - [6:36 PM]

SI.com: "Signing T.O. fits in well with Jerry Jones' philosophy" - If the Cowboys sign T.O.(Team Obliterator, Totally Obnoxious, etc...) I may have to find a new football team.

Self made gatekeepers... - [12:05 PM]

Sorry, we're closedScobleizer: "Who made me a gatekeeper? I don'’t want that job." - I like Robert a lot. He's a very friendly fella and he understands his market. If you're tired of the hassle Robert just check-out. It's easy. If you stop writing people will stop reading and you'll be just another nameless face. It's easy to show your face on the net, it's also just as easy to be anonymous.

Hang out the closed sign, folks will talk about it for a while, then you can just fade into the ether. Remember, geek types typically have a very short attention span.

So, what were we talking about?

Visalia Times Delta: "In a humble city like this, you can choose your own pace." - Hopefully I'll be able to enjoy Exeter's peaceful living some day.

Tink, a pixie with attitude!Pixie Renderer: "Pixie is a RenderMan like photorealistic renderer. It is being developed in the hope that it will be useful for graphics research and for people who can not afford a commercial renderer."

Wanted: Young Blood - [5:19 PM]

CNN: "Now, along with the middle-age woes of a stagnant stock and a host of new competition, the world's biggest computer software maker apparently can add 'attracting young blood' to its list." - Even with this trouble WE as an industry cannot afford to unionize.

Just say 'No' to Software Unions.

ThinkPad X Series Tablet - [10:20 AM]

Personally I think the ThinkPad X Series Tablet boxes are way more exciting than an Origami box, no offense folks. Even my wife wants one, that's a tall order to fill.
