Ok, this site is now publishing an Atom feed. It's in the same location, with the same name. Hopefully it doesn't break anyone.

Switching my feed - [11:31 AM]

Ok, if you've subscribed to this site I may be breaking you, but I'm not sure. If the post after this one doesn't show up in your reader please send e-mail.

I'm switching to an Atom feed since Blogger doesn't support RSS 2.0, which I'd like to switch to. Politics, sigh...

Spam in comments - [11:27 AM]

Ok, so the spam scum-bags have finally struck my weblog. I apologize if you run into links to sex sites, I think I've deleted them all.

So spammer scum go away, don't come back. I've turned on moderation so your comments may not appear right away.

Embrace and extend - [11:07 AM]

Robert X. Cringely: "One part of last week's column on Apple's Boot Camp that slipped past many readers was the idea that Apple would actually start shipping OEM versions of Windows Vista with at least some of its computers. I believe that will be the case and, if so, it is a big deal, and could lead to Apple becoming the biggest vendor of Windows computers to business, which I think is a hoot. - I would love to see Apple do this. So, yes, please, ship Vista as an optional add-on to your new product line. I would convince my wife we needed one of these little gems.

Nick Bradbury: "The HTML editor, of course, was HomeSite - and it turned out to be far more popular than my comic strips. Almost immediately, HomeSite seemed to be everywhere." - I love reading stories like this, keep 'em coming Nick.

Follow-up to Office Live post - [8:37 AM]

In a recent post about Office Live a reader left a comment stating the "The free offer will continue to be free after the beta." That's great, but you need to read the fine print if you're going to take Microsoft up on their offer just so you know what you're getting into. You don't want to see a surprise charge on your credit card, right? Not that it's going to happen, just be aware that it could according to the language in the setup process.

A wonderful boquet of flowers.Don't get me wrong. Microsoft can charge whatever they like. The value added to small businesses far outweighs the possible charge, especially if it is a small charge, I'm thinking less than $10.00 per month. When I composed that post I was thinking from a weblogging perspective, which is not the correct perspective for the Office Live service. This service is meant for small businesses. People looking to create a web presence and make it as painless as possible. That's a good thing.

If you want free weblogging space, take a look at Blogger or WordPress.com. They're first rate blogging services.

Gas in California - [8:28 AM]

Visalia Times: "Gas in Visalia now averages $2.90 a gallon compared with $2.58 in March." - It would seem that gas prices in California are well above national averages. If you're in the Fresno area you can find the best prices for gas here.

What's the price for a gallon of gas where you live?

Morning commute fun - [12:25 PM]

KSEE24.com: " After sitting inside of the car for a few minutes, the driver reportedly took off down Highway 99 and exited Manning. His front tires went flat, after authorities laid down spikes. Officials say the man then got out of the car and began pointing a gun at officers, then went back inside the car. At one point, he began holding the gun to his head." - I was diverted off of Highway 99 this morning, about half way through my commute. This nice little mess added a full hour to my commute.
