Deathly Hallows date set! - [10:57 AM]

Harry Potter Prognostications: "It is official!!!!!!!!!!!!JK Rowling has updated her website to announce that the official release date for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be on Saturday July 21st 2007 at 00:01 BST and at 00:01 in the USA." - This is great news! I was personally hoping for 07/07/07, but 07/21/07 has a nice ring to it!

New header graphic - [10:29 AM]

Once I've gone to the new weblogging system this will become an automagic thing, a new header for each month with special days in between.

Enjoy.

M.A.D. - [2:47 PM]

ynetnews.com: "Outdated Cold war concepts, such as mutually assured destruction (M.A.D) are irrelevant when it comes to Iran, because the Iranian president and his circle see such a scenario 'as an incentive, not a deterrent,' renowned scholar Bernard Lewis said during a lecture Monday evening at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem." - That's tough to argue with, isn't it? So how do you handle someone bent on destruction? The answer is obvious, but not very desirable, you beat them to the punch.

Unfortunately that's the world we live in.

In the market for a .NET job? - [10:19 AM]

jobs.joelonsoftware.com: "We are a Forbes' Best of the Web company and a top-rated small property website - and we are located in a really cool downtown office on 7th and Brazos!" - If you're in Austin, TX, this looks like it could be a super company to work for.

Something more companies need to sell, IMHO, are the little things. BedandBreakfast.com does a bit of that in this ad. It's the little things that matter, like free food and beverages, or being allowed to work from home, or great bonuses, or playing up a nice downtown location close to restaurants, shops, and sporting events(BIG bonus in my book!)

Vista Wow! - [10:06 AM]

CNN: "'This "Wow" thing is a great way of describing what we've got here,' Microsoft's chairman told The Associated Press on Monday as the software maker scheduled a slate of splashy events in New York. 'There are chances for wows all over the product.'" - I can see a lot of people saying "Wow, this looks a lot like Mac OS-X!"

Do A-Listers Owe Us? - [9:37 AM]

Watch out! It's a blog fly!Scobleizer: "I can’t speak for anyone other than myself, but, yes, I try to link out to as many people as possible. I got found because other people linked to me, and I view it as my responsibility to link to other people as well. I also leave my comments open so people can post their own opinions and links to things." - In a word, No. The blogosphere is ever changing, great weblogs come and go, and they often times change over time. I know this one has. I think Robert used to read me on a weekly, if not daily, basis at one time. I fairly certain he no longer does. Why? Well, this weblog is fairly boring, and has changed over the past six years. I was probably more interesting when I worked for Visio(Microsoft). But I digress. The A-Listers don't owe the Z-Listers a darned thing. People will find you by word of mouth. If you have something they're interested in they'll Google you out, trust me. I've seen it first hand on this weblog, they come for old posts, and some stay.
