Tied, 17-17.

How many softball/baseball games have you seen end in a tie? Probably not many. Unfortunately that's how our game ended last night, against the Dodgers none the less.

In our league we have a rule any team can invoke prior to the start of the game. It's the seven run rule. That means a team is only allowed to score seven runs in any one inning, once you score seven it's like three outs and you take the field. Last night we didn't know the other team had asked for it until our bats came alive and we scored seven quickly. This has two side effects. One it keeps a team from pounding the snot bubbles out of you and two it can cause the hot teams bats to cool down. The latter is exactly what happened to us last night. We were creaming the ball. Two homers, no outs, and we have to take the field because we scored seven! Man that hurts. The score was 17-10 at that point and the other team managed to get on a streak as well, they scored seven.

For the next two innings we couldn't get anything going, and neither could they. This is the only tie softball/baseball game I've ever been a part of. Doesn't seem right does it?

The only up side is I had a good night at the plate 3-4, two singles on the left side, and one on the right.

Our record is now 3-2-1 with four games remaining.
