Today’s update of our personal timeline app, Tapestry, is the one you’ve been waiting for and pushes the app to a whole new level. Bring together your social media, RSS feeds, podcasts, YouTube and more in one chronological timeline—with no algorithm deciding what you see. Version 2 most notably enables subscribers to reply and post directly to Bluesky and Mastodon from within Tapestry along with loads of other improvements.
I love that Ged calls Tapestry a personal timeline app. That captures what Tapestry really gives you. It’s personal. You want to see your Mastodon timeline? Add it. You want to see a blog’s RSS feed? Add it. If you like Bluesky you can add that too! But Tapestry 1.0 shipped with those features. No big deal, right? Right.
With 2.0 the incredible folks at The Iconfactory have added the ability to post and reply to Mastodon and Bluesky posts. What!? Yep, you heard me. You can now reply to Mastodon and Bluesky posts and even create new posts. Their post editor is simple to use and supports the features you expect from Mastodon and Bluesky.
Tapestry is turning into something really special in our fragmented social media landscape. It has taken over Mastodon and Bluesky timeline duties for my previous dedicated Mastodon and Bluesky apps. Now I have a custom Timeline that combines Mastodon and Bluesky into a single timeline and leaves out the other feeds I follow. Yes, you can also make custom timelines with only the feeds you’d like to see in that custom timeline. Nice!
All-in-all Tapestry 2.0 is an excellent upgrade to an already solid, customizable, timeline application.

It’s no secret I’m a big fan of The Iconfactory’s work. I have been for years. My love for the company began with Twitterrific 1.0 and grew from there. They’re not only incredible engineers, they also have incredible designers. Combine those two things and you get beautifully crafted, solid, software. That’s why I love them so much.
It’s ok to be a professional software developer and also fanboy a bit. I’m not at all ashamed of it. I’ve been a happy fan and user of Iconfactory products for well over 15 year and I’ll continue to use and support their endeavors as long as they’re around.
